My Family:

I have a big, crazy, and loud Irish- Italian family. My mom and dad, Saasha and Mark, have made living in a big family something that I never thought I would cherish so much! I am the youngest of four, so I would describe myself as a person who knows how to hold their own in a situation. I have learned that I love to be different and stray from the normativity within my family. For example, my parents and three siblings all attended Santa Clara University in California, which makes me the first person to break the family tradition! Luckily, my family was nothing but supportive about my decision, which is something I will always be eternally grateful for! My favorite thing about being a part of a big family are the many dinners, conversations, and big holidays that we all have! Every Sunday night, my family and I go over to my grandparent's house for Sunday night dinner where we enjoy nothing short of a good Italian meal! My family is something that is so important to me and will always be my biggest support system. I owe all of my successes to them!

TRAVEL EXPERIENCES!!!

I have been fortunate enough to have started traveling at the young age of 4 years old. My grandparents and my family started traveling all throughout Europe and created memories that I will cherish forever. Our main focus of travel was Italy. We have traveled from the top of Italy all the way to the tip of the boot. Along with traveling to Italy, we have also explored the countries of: England, Ireland, France, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, and this year we visited Cuba, which has been one the best places I have ever visited! The main reason why I loved Cuba so much was because it was so different than any place I had visited in Europe. Cuba's culture and atmosphere is based on tradition, as Europe's, however, the way they emulated the tradition made it feel like we were still in the 1950's. Whether it was driving in the old colorful cars, learning about Hemmingway and cigars, or visiting the most upbeat traditional bars, you will experience the culture and good times that Havana, Cuba has to offer! Traveling is by far my favorite thing to do. I hope to continue my adventures in all parts of the world, so I can continue my interest in learning about all cultures. My future plans are to hopefully visit South America, specifically Peru and Brazil, and explore all parts of Asia! I am so excited for what the future holds with my travel plans!

Extra Curricular Activites:

I am known for doing a million things at once because of my fascination and need for trying and experiencing everything. Soccer has always been a huge part of my life and will continue to be. I started playing when I was just four years old and have continued playing until today. I truly owe so much respect to soccer as it has taught me how to be a better player, student, and person in this world. Another thing that I am so passionate about is service. I started doing community service when I was fairly young and my passion as only grown deeper and stronger for it. My biggest act of service was going on an Immersion Program in the Mission of San Francisco. The Mission one of the last places in San Francisco to still contain its authentic culture and tradition. However, because San Francisco is evolving into a very hip and popular place for younger people to live, that culture and tradition is changing in order to accommodate for the up and coming generation. However, with this comes the severe problem of gentrification of local businesses and homes. People are being forced out of their homes that they have lived in for years or that have been passed down for generations all because living in San Francisco is extremely expensive. It was really amazing to go on this service trip because I was able to learn about the issues that are occurring in my backyard. I was also able to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, which is an organization that builds affordable housing for people who are being gentrified against. These 2 weeks of service were probably two of the best weeks of my life because I was informed on an issue that is so severe in California. I hope I can continue to help people in the future for all matters, so that everyone can live the happy and healthy life that they deserve.
